Theme: Rocket Science for Kids - Level 3 Kerbal Space Program |
Description: In this level 3 Kerbal Space Program course, students will continue to grow their rocket engineering skills with a deep dive into the higher-level science concepts in the program. Students MUST have successfully completed one of our Level 2 summer 2021 camps. Students will also cover advanced planning, designing, and the coding required to control the rocket. This camp will require purchasing the “Breaking Ground” expansion prior to the start of the camp. . In addition, the instructor will demonstrate how to install MODs. |
Course Dates: August 30, 31, Sept 1, 2, 3 for 15 hours of STEM fun! |
Day and Time: Virtual camp runs Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm. |

Required equipment: Students will need access to a computer with a microphone and web camera, a Gmail account they know how to access for our google classroom, and Zoom installed on the computer. Make sure Kerbal Space Program is installed prior to the class. Call Dereck at 604.308.2241 if you have any questions about the software to purchase. |

About Kerbal Space Program: In Kerbal Space Program, take charge of the space program for the alien race known as the Kerbals. You have access to an array of parts to assemble fully-functional spacecraft that flies (or doesn’t) based on realistic aerodynamic and orbital physics. Launch your Kerbal crew into orbit and beyond (while keeping them alive) to explore moons and planets in the Kerbol solar system, constructing bases and space stations to expand the reach of your expedition. |

Requirement: You must have a laptop or desktop running Windows OS or Mac OS. We will be using Zoom for the duration of the camp. Check to make sure you have the required software loaded onto your computer prior to the start of the camp. Note: Our Kerbal camps require that you have purchased the software directly from their site.
